Born in 1980 in Metz (France), Corentin Grossmann lives and work in Berlin.

Graduating in 2006, he receives in 2008 a Berlin-residency scholarship.
His work is a permanent research of hybrid shapes, through which he presents connections between oft-divided spheres of reflection.
Archetypal representations, icons, or popular imagery will be derailed, contaminated by a personal re-writing mode,
revealing unconscious idea-mashing mecanisms.

These shapes, whether they be video, drawing or projected, are the fruits of a vision moving from the cellular to the human if not cosmic scales.

"If I refer to a local, partial, minuscule or very short reality, it is only to better inscribe it into the interdependent
and infinitely complex movements of innumerable elements which are part of our universe.
The ambiguity of this proceeding also lies in that thought whose structuring tendancy is destined for failure.
The lightest and a heaviest matters can be addressed simultaneously, with humor; to relate them, without any hierarchy, is a poetry which I like"
