At the beginning of "seeking me you sat exhausted", the new feature by Christophe Chemin, there is a woman abandoning her young child in a forest
as she says "to help him to find his way". The mother says : "Child, today i have to adandon you. Don't judge me. You have to travel, it's time for you
to go away from me, you will travel to other countries where you will serve strangers, where you will grow and learn". And the child says : "Thank you
Mother for doing that to me. I hate you and always hated you. This place called home was a hellhole to me.
For now on i will stay in the forest, live with the animals, speak to trees and mountains,
away from the human vermin, and there i will learn to be nothing, i will be nobody.
My education will be to forget what you taught me. Here, take back those clothes you dressed mewith and now go away from me, woman.
Stranger, I don't know who you are and will never see you anymore. Goodbye."
With "seeking me you sat exhausted" a feature starring Susanne Sachsse, he explores the relationship between homeless people, feral children, actors and great mystics. Referencing John the Baptist, Chemin creates a fantasy world where homeless people become kings and the dominant role of the human is questioned.
"seeking we you sat exhausted" was shown for the first time in november 2009 at the prestigious Kino Arsenal of Berlin,
as part of the first majpr festival organized around the infamous Jack Smith.
Commissioned by Arsenal - Institut für Film und Videokunst e.V. for "LIVE FILM! JACK SMITH! Five Flaming Days in a Rented World" (Berlin 2009)
