Born in 1977 in Bordeaux (France), currently lives in Berlin.

Christophe Chemin is a young polymorph artist some sort of insatiable Jack of all trades, who has been swinging from one thing to another since his
childhood, devouring, absorbing as quickly as possible, then literally vomiting a multitude of objects out of his mind.

After he studied at Les Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux (France), and then in ECV for a Master in graphic
design, he worked as an Art Director in the press and in many different Design agencies in Paris; meanwhile
he published his first book, a scandalous, polemic and violent family novel called «Les Bourreaux» that settled
him as an «Enfant Terrible de la Litterature» at the age of only 23 years old. He often gets compared to
Antonin Artaud for the visceral violence and clear explicit sexually aggressive content in this novel. The same
year (2001) he published two other novels «Hémorroïdes» and «Agrandissement de l'Asphalte», all published
by the infamous writer and publisher Guillaume Dustan at Balland. In 2004 he stopped all day job activity, to
concentrate full time on his art.

His work extends itself from one medium to the other to develop its ramifica-
tions freely, its possibilities, and also not to be easily locked or attached in any artistic field. Each discipline
being used develops itself in a complementary and coherent way, like a big map, related to the inner map of
Christophe's own territory, a territory that is always based on a preoccupation with performance, often
mystical, always facing the notion of danger. From text to visual, dance to artistic performance, drawing to
photography, set design to installations, video to cinema, Christophe Chemin breaks the limits, resulting in a
permanent exhibition of his own body.

His work currently goes more and more into the direction of artistic
collaborations, in order to open himself and his obsessions to a dialogue, not to stay focused on himself inside
a bird cage, being prisoner of its own work. He still writes and publishes books.
